Welcome to the Hillside Board of Education homepage.

The Hillside School District is governed by Title 18A, Education, of the New Jersey Statutes. There are nine members of the Board of Education who are elected in accordance with the provisions of the statute governing Type II school districts. Three of these nine members are elected each year for a three-year term.

This area of the website is designated to provide board member contact information, meeting schedules, committee assignments, agendas-minutes for board meetings, budget information, superintendent's office information, and the Hillside Policy & Regulation Manual.

Curriculum

Welcome to the Hillside Curriculum Resource area. Our goal is to guide the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula aligned with the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards in each of the core areas outlined by the NJ Department of Education (Mathematics, Language Arts Literacy, Science, Visual and Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education, Social Studies, World Language, Technological Literacy, Career Education and Life Skills). The Hillside School District embraces the concept of Understanding by Design and the research of Grant Wiggins. In 2010-2011, we will begin to review, revise, and edit curriculum utilizing his most recent research.
